What is a Charter School?
- Charters are free, independently-run, public schools.
- Charters accept any child who wishes to enroll and do not have special requirements for admission.
- Charters have detailed, written performance contracts with the New Jersey Department of Education.
- Charters routinely measure parent approval and student progress. They must demonstrate success to parents, policymakers and their community.
